That Thriller Night

MY FIRST TASTE OF MILAN was very much like my first taste of its coffee: short but intense. Three full days involved a lot of filming, a lot of interviewing, a lot of meeting, greeting, eating, drinking and chatting with some of the industry's warmest, most welcoming individuals, in some of the city's most important addresses, during one of fashion's most influential weeks.

Un macchiato per favore! Wake me up, I may be dreaming!

The Flutterby Shoe Launch held at 10 Corso Como on Friday culminated I-D and Guardiani's Cinderthriller competition, which sought out, sorted and sifted through hundreds of shoe design entries from all over the globe. Judged by a panel of industry big names such as Anna Dello Russo, Georgina Goodman, Andrew Keith, Sarah from Colette Paris and of course, Alberto Guardiani's Rubina Guardiani and I-D's Terry Jones, the graphic yet delicate butterfly-heeled pumps emerged top spot, providing a little-known writer from Manila her first-ever shoe design.

An amazing pre-birthday present it has been for me. Spending time with the lovely Guardianis and their team, as well as Terry and Tricia Jones is already quite priceless on its own. But on top of that, they had given Jaime a warm welcome too. Love!

The Flutterby Shoe, renamed so aptly by Terry Jones, was brought to life by the Alberto Guardiani team, to be part of the brand's Autumn/Winter 2012 line.
