That Doll and That Shoemaker

I WOULD NOT BE WHO I AM TODAY without Barbie in my childhood. She was my muse, my early access to fashion, my paragon for style and beauty.

It's frustrating to grow up realizing that no, I have neither height, blond locks or big breasts. Neither is my face perfectly symmetric. But beauty is in the eye of the beholder so I only hope to be as beautiful to someone as Barbie was to my young eyes.

It is equally frustrating to know that a doll can own that many shoes! One billion pairs to be exact. So I only dream of owning at least one -yes one- pair of Louboutins in my lifetime.

Okay, maybe two.

Or ten.

Read the Christian Louboutin/Barbie turns 50 story at WWD.

My dream in life is to own a pair too. I love the Barbie images! I only had 2 Barbies as a child: a Superstar Barbie (she wins an Oscar and has her own podium and little dressing room with light bulbs around the mirror) and a Wedding Day Barbie (which comes with a really fluffy white wedding dress and veil and pearl accessories, as well as a bouquet). Hmmm...I guess Barbie has influenced me more than I realize!

Haha, I guess she did!

Why don't you get a pair for your wedding reception ;-P
