That Folding, Unfolding

FEATURE:
THAT FOLDING, UNFOLDING

THE LE MÉRIDIEN ORIGAMI STAR came with our early Christmas presents, gifted at a lunch gathering of acquaintences old and new. Kicked-off with cava, the pre-holiday almuerzo at the Barcelona hotel's Centonze consisted of Eugeni Cortés' cochinillo terrine and truffled scallop purée, among an array of other delights. While the dishes exhibited creativity, the meal was not forgetful of tradition, ending with servings of turrón, the nougat confection that Christmas in Spain cannot be without.

The same concept of combining creativity with tradition extends through Le Méridien's holiday menus, especially-created for Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day and Three Kings Day. The menus include such staples as escudella for Christmas Day, good luck grapes on New Year's Eve, and the well-loved chocolate con churros for indulging in the wee, small, first few hours of 2014.

For guests spending the holidays away from home, Le Méridien decks each Deluxe Room and Junior Suite with its own Christmas tree, crowned with the season's signature origami star. The trees come with assorted ornaments, for guests to personalize their own trees with, as they would in their own homes.

231 trees for 231 rooms, festive menus for each holiday, and a symbolic star for unfolding surprises throughout the season. Happy holidays!
