That King of the Streets

LONG BEFORE TODAY'S STREET PHOTOGRAPHERS and fashion bloggers was a man whose unconditional love for life and style and fashion led him to document history as it unfolded through clothing trends on the streets of NYC, from the 60's to the present.

A man over 80, upon a bike and about town, in a workman's jacket, a taped up poncho and a film camera hung from the neck, The New Yok Times' Bill Cunningham is every bit not the epitome of fashion as we perceive it.

And yet, in just 84 minutes, he is able to show how much more life there is outside of fashion, as well as in it. The key is simply to get out there and look around.

"He who seeks beauty shall find it." -Bill Cunningham
