UNPACKING ON A RAINY APRIL DAY. The abundance of receipts, dirty laundry and half-empty toiletry bottles unloaded from suitcases only serve to confirm how long indeed we had been away, eagerly waiting and working -in my case, even crying- our way back home.
But we're home. At last! Amidst the chaos of getting this limbo-life back in order, I stop to appreciate a handful of items I've acquired through a long and winding March in Manila: recognition and purchases locally made and obtained, as personal reminders for what can be gained when making good use of available time.
"Piensa con frecuencia en el valor del tiempo." Always keep in mind the value of time. Pedro Poveda could not have been wiser.
