ALMOST LIKE THEY WERE MADE WITH POWDER. Tran Nguyen's illustration have the gentlest, kindest colors and strokes, and yet her characters are not without a certain darkness to them; be it in their obscure companions, esoteric alter egos or deep, hypnotic gazes.
Those gazes. They're staring at me, the girls in the pictures. They know I should have written about them better. But I've just been really blech lately and my words which usually flow more naturally seem to be stuck somewhere up there in a big cluttered mess. Even bigger than the big cluttered mess that is our home at the moment.
Our helper's been on vacation. And will be for a while.
I think my mind's been on vacation too.
